Goodbye Apartment!

Welp, we are officially out of our apartment. We went through one last last week to make sure everything is clean and out, and turned in our keys. It was a lot harder leaving than I thought. So many good memories! This was almost 3 years of our marriage! Boston's first home. A really great ward, and good neighbors. Goodbye apartment! We will miss you!
This was our living room/dining room/Boston's newborn bedroom. When Boston was born he slept here in his swing til he was 3 months, then he moved to the dining room, and we ate out here!
This is where we brought Boston home for the first time! Right through the front door. This is where we waited each night for Daddy to come home from work, and also where Boston liked to play with the door stopper :-) boing!
We spent lots of summer nights on the balcony. We liked to sit out during rainstorms and watch the lightening. We also watched the neighbor kids play soccer outside, and watch for daddy to drive in and wave at him as he walked down the sidewalk.
This is where I usually caught Boston getting into trouble. I would walk to this spot, and find his baby food scattered all over the floor, pots and pans and towels pulled out of cupboards and drawers. And right in the middle sat Boston with a surprised 'I don't know how this happened' face :-)

It was right here where I almost lost my life. I turned the wrong heating element on (where a Pyrex baking dish was sitting)  and watched It shatter into a million pieces while standing right in front of the stove.  I'm amazed I wasn't left with a single scratch! We found glass behind the kitchen table, in the pantry, behind the oven, on the countertop by the sink, everywhere. Good thing this happened way before Boston was born :-)
Here is our dining room, aka Boston's bedroom. This is where you slept buddy!
This is where Boston got his first bath at home. Right at the sink. He was so tiny! As he got bigger he loved to stand on the counter and give his reflection kisses.
Boston unrolled a whole roll of toilet paper in this bathroom, just kept smacking it until it all unraveled :-)
He also stuck his hand in the toilet here, and was always curious of the plunger.....

New House!

We are finally homeowners! We signed for our house December 5th, got keys on the 6th, and moved into our new house on December 7th. We have loved our apartment, but we were pretty much busting at the seams. Boson now has his very own room, and Jeff and I can now have a bedroom instead of a storage room! Boston has absolutely loved the new house. The first night here he didn't sleep well. But he adjusted quickly and has done so well since! He loves that his toys can stay out in his room, and he will crawl in and out, back and forth all day long. He also taught himself how to go down the stairs. He will crawl right up to them, turn all the way around and scoot right down. Then he goes back up, over and over. He loves the stairs.
First thing on my list after moving in was setting up the Christmas tree. It has KILLED me to wait this long. I mean really killed me. We have lots of plans for updating the house, but I decided to hold off on everything so we can enjoy Christmas. We did however have to wait til after church. We went to our old ward one last time so I could be released from my calling. They ended up releasing me from the wrong calling but then caught it after the sacrament and told us maybe it was a sign, and we should stay :-) boy did I want to stay in that ward! They have been so good to us!
When we got home, the Christmas tree was up in 5 seconds. It is so nice to finally have Christmas up in our new home. We have been so blessed around Christmastime. Last year we got a baby for Christmas, and this year a house. Santa is really going to have a hard time beating that next year!

Crescent Roll White Lasagna

We had limited groceries moving in to our house last week, so I sort of made this up using what we had. We were both surprised by how good it was!

1 can crescent rolls
8 oz Alfredo Sauce (half a jar)
1/2 lb ground beef or sausage
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
8 oz cream cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1 egg
Sliced mozzarella cheese

Brown meat, drain. Return and add Alfredo sauce, and seasoning powders. Simmer uncovered 5 minutes. Mix together cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg. Set aside.
Using half the can of crescent rolls, line the bottom of a 9x9 baking dish making a crust. Spread meat mixture on top, then cream cheese mixture, then top with sliced mozzarella cheese. Use the remainder of your crescent rolls for a top crust. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

Happy Birthday Boston!!

Happy 1st Birthday to our cute little boy! What a fun day you had. We went to church in our new ward, you made some new friends, then came home and played with mom and dad. We had pasta and apple juice for dinner, your favorites! Then we had lots of family come over for a fun party! You opened presents, and ate cake and ice cream. You got so many fun toys from everyone, you will be entertained for a long time! Mommy and daddy got you a little people pirate ship, grandma and grandpa Roberts got you a little people farm, and grandma and grandpa tree got you a see and say toy and outfit. Aunt Ashley and Uncle Eric got you a fun doggy hat and doggy poo stuffed animal. (Ask me to watch the movie sometime....it's a real treat!) Uncle Jordan and Aunt Chels got you your very own sled and Aunt Bonnie's family got you a cute cell phone! Now maybe you will stop calling people with mine.....probably not. You are one spoiled boy! You loved your cake, and I think the pictures show it :-) you were covered in chocolate! We loved watching you dive in :-)

Well, as of today you are walking! You still prefer to crawl, and are hesitant to go very far because you are afraid to fall. You are enjoying your own room (pictures coming!) and love to crawl in and out, and down the hall. Within two days of us moving in, you had already figured out the stairs. You go up and down without any help! You are very good at waving bye bye, pointing at things you like, and sharing your food. Sometimes you hold out your hand as if saying: stop! You mostly do that when I see you doing something you aren't supposed to, as if you are saying, no mom, don't stop me! :-) You are trying hard to be grown up lately. You don't like it when I put the sippy lid on your cup. You reach for my glass instead, and are getting pretty good at drinking out of it. You always reach for my spoon, as if you are offended I make you eat with your hands! You have 5 teeth right now, and have two that are working their way in. We just can't believe how fast this year has gone. You have taught daddy and I so much this last year, we are better people today because of you. You teach us new things every day, and I am so grateful I get to be your mommy. We love you Boston! We have had a wonderful 1st yar with you!
Just has to post this one haha

Boston's very own cake

Thanksgiving

We had a great holiday this past week. We spent the day before Thanksgiving with Aunt Ashley and baby Jaden. You and Grandpa were great buddies while Grandma, Ashley and I played with Jaden.
We went to Great-Grandma Vivian's for Thanksgiving dinner. You love mashed potatoes! You ate potatoes, turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, jello salad, orange rolls, and Oreos. Yum! And not to forget chocolate pies. Talk about sugar overload! :-)
We spent Saturday with the Roberts side, starting with family pictures that morning. You were NOT in a good mood for pictures. No matter how hard we tried to get you to smile, you were stone-faced. It was kinda funny watching you react with no emotion as everyone is acting goofy for you. Then we had 2nd Thanksgiving dinner, and played games.
You had a great double 1st Thanksgiving! There is so much to be Thankful for. We are so grateful for you, and the sweet boy you are.
