November Things

November! Started off going hatchet throwing with the Young Women and Deacons. It was scary, and fun :-) Our cute team took 1st!

Next we knew, we had caught covid :-(

Jeff started getting cold symptoms and decided to get a test done by the school nurse on Friday that week. I was out mowing the lawn when he called and said he was positive for covid. It was super scary, we had tried so hard to avoid it, we all wear masks to church and the kids at school. I immediately called the school and picked up the kids and started our quarantine. The school recommended isolating from Jeff to avoid a longer quarantine. Jeff went back to the bedroom, and for the next few days the girls would randomly sit outside his door and cry for him. Especially Gracie.

I told the kids to pull out as many toys as they wanted and make a "toy city." We made the most of it, and that kept them occupied for a good several days without fighting! Someone was looking out for me those few days. Saturday night i started to feel symptoms coming on, and I tested positive the next morning. I never thought I would be so happy with a positive test! Jeff was able to come out since we both weren't able to isolate from the kids, and we just decide to accept the outcome. Not that we had any other option...

The kids slowly tested positive that next week, ending with Rylee about a week after Jeff tested positive. Boston and Ellie tested first with no symptoms. Weird! Gracie and Rylee had runny noses and small coughs. We had so many people reach out and bring meals, pick up groceries, bring activities for the kids, send cards in the mail etc. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love we felt. You all know who you are, we love you! It was honestly so theraputic cancelling everything in our calendar and just having family time.

We baked a LOT. Our neighbor brought us a madeline pan, so we could make madelines! I wasn't able to taste them, but the kids liked them! haha!

If a picture could represent the word "annoying" - it would be underneath this text and to the left. He is definitely entering that annoying preteen obnoxiousness.

When he wasn't being obnoxious, he was an angel, and I loved "reading time" during home school because he always asked if he could read to me. He is reading "A Cricket in Times Square," it was so cute!

Boston found a recipe in his Harry Potter cookbook for  chocolate pudding from scratch. I helped a little reading the recipe - but he did it mostly on his own! Homemade pudding is delish! I mean...just ask Gracie...

Rylee got a pumpkin seed from preschool and it has grown a ton! It'll be tricky trying to keep it alive til the spring, but we'll see what we can do! haha

Most of us made it out of quarantine just soon enough for our cousin Jaden's baptism. Jeff was able to sing, and I watched at home with the younger two!

Rylee had a thanksgiving feast at preschool and insisted on making "baby" apple pies. I let her do most of it and then she didn't even eat one haha. We also broke a fork in the process.

Thanksgiving break in bear lake! So much fun with family and cousins. Lots of games, eating, walking and playing! The kids had a blast.
