Layton Aquarium

Started off our Spring break early with a trip to the Seaquest Interactive Aquarium in Layton with our neighbors! We had a BLAST! I went to the aquarium NOT an animal person, and I left the aquarium NOT an animal person....but I did touch a stingray, an octopus, a shark, a tortoise, those dead skin eating fish, and lots and lots of birds....I'm super proud of myself for the last one, I freaking hate birds. We went into a cage and got to feed them. The birds went insane, and were all over us. I had birds on my head, arms, shoulders, legs, feet, everywhere. I kept it pretty together on the outside, and kept the freaking out part of me on the inside. The kids freaked out a bit about the birds, mostly because their little claws hurt on their bare skin. I feel ya kids! And a couple birds started fighting on Ellie's lap, so the caretaker had to separate them haha.

The stingrays were pretty cool, it was almost as if they were posing for all the pictures.... I thought they were all going to jump out of the tank, they were that excited to see the kids.

Boston loved the dead skin eating fish....Ellie, not so much. I wasn't going to stick my hand in because I was "holding the baby" but Rylee actually loved it too, so no excuses, I can't be a wuss!

St Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's day fun! The shirts they wore last year still fit, and I'm dying over how big they got in a year. Jeff was home, since it was a Saturday, so we thought we'd do some fun stuff with them. We laughed pretty hard trying to pick a leprechaun name to sign their note, and laid out gold coins from their room leading up to the breakfast table where we had green milk and lucky charms. When Jeff and I woke up, Boston had moved all the coins from their room, up to our hallway to lead us from our room to breakfast. He felt bad that the leprechaun hadn't left us a trail. That kid is the most thoughtful little boy, I tell you what. We then celebrated by doing yard work (Ha!) and then made green tapioca for dessert.

I can't remember what Boston did to get in trouble, but I do remember threatening to put his hair in a ponytail like Rylee's. He wasn't happy about it, but whatever it was he did, he hasn't done again, so I guess that did the trick. I love torturing my children.

Time for their checkup! Time for their checkup!

Did you catch the Doc McStuffins reference? My kids don't even watch that show and I still get the song stuck in my head.

Ellie and Rylee had doctor appointments yesterday. Rylee is 21.1 pounds (88%) and 26.6 inches (12.55 %) Still growing wide faster than she is growing long haha.

Ellie is 37.25 inches tall (57%)  and 32 lbs (64%) - No fun rides at Disneyland for this girl!

Rylee has a small heart murmer - I freaked out on the inside when she said it - BUT - they said its a "normal" heart murmur, absolutely nothing to worry about, and that it'll go away on its own. She also has a blocked tear duct in her right eye. Its been kinda runny off and on since she's been born, but lately its starting to get really gross and goopy, and I keep confusing it with pink eye. They said if its the same by the time she turns one, they'll do a small procedure to open it back up.

Ellie is super healthy and right on track, other than her humongous scar on her chest...the Dr. said we will most likely have to inject it with steroids, or try to have it surgically removed when she gets older. Super sorry Ellie!

Grateful for these two girls of mine!

Rylee 9 Months

Rylee just passed her 9 month mark, and is now crawling! She is into everything...I forgot how hard keeping a crawling toddler out of everything is. But, its nice that she can go where she wants now instead of screaming at me to move her somewhere. Rylee can wave bye bye, and started putting her hands up in the air like she's on a roller coaster. Its really cute, we'll all put our hands up and yell whoo hoo! And she thinks its pretty great. We see the doctor tomorrow to check her stats, and i'm super curious to see how big she's gotten - she is a chub! Church has gotten a little more difficult, especially now that we are at 11 (during nap time) but as long as she has food, she does pretty good. She loves cheerios, tooty fruities, applesauce, and pretty much any baby food that isn't vegetables ha! Her hair on is long enough to be in a little pony tail on top, and she loves to babble mamma and dadda. Still loves bath time and playing with Boston and Ellie. Can't believe we are creeping up on her first birthday! Love you Ry!
