Ellie turns 5!

We sure do love this girl! Ellie's birthday was pretty eventful. We signed on our new house today, got to have lunch with Dad at school, had her last day of school (which she chose to bring donuts to class) got her very own shopping trip with mom to the store to pick out a present, and had pizza and cake with Grandma's, Grandpa's, and Uncle Todd and Aunt Bonnie!

Ellie is a little firecracker with a huge heart. She loves her family, especially her mom (she is so sweet to me - even when i'm getting after her, she still cries for me) She loves to serve me, and especially make sure I always have plenty of water. I've been thirsty all the time - and she always makes sure my cup is full and I don't have to get up to get water. Whenever we have family time, she curls up right next to me and hugs me close. She loves to rub my belly and ask questions about the baby. She is going to be the best big sister! She and Rylee got to go to my gender check appointment, and when the tech told me it was a girl, she had a look of shock on her face, and tears in her eyes telling me:  "but I really wanted a brother for Boston!" We are all so excited for another girl, but man, we all really felt for Boston that day. Especially Ellie, who really feels for everyone in our family and wants everyone to be happy. She loves to brush my hair and rub my back, and loves to help and take care of Rylee, who isn't always the best recipient of that care, ha!

She has taken the quarantine especially hard, wanting so bad to hug her family and see her cousins. She thinks about her family a lot. We stopped by my parents to doorbell ditch a birthday gift for my dad, and when we saw they were outside, we got out to have a safe 6-foot distance talk with them. Ellie got out of the truck immediately forgetting that we couldn't give hugs, and ran straight for my mom. She burst into tears when she couldn't hug her and cried the whole way home. It was heartbreaking. She begs me to send messages to her cousin Emmy and has been coloring pictures for her other cousins. HUGE heart.

Ellie is quick and funny (when she's not trying to be overly silly) and when she laughs really hard, its contagious! She can really give Boston a run for his money. They are still frenemies. Can't live with each other, can't live without each other. She loves to be included in anything he is doing. They are in separate bedrooms now, and Ellie loves sharing a room with Rylee. They have quite the set up with all their barbies, babies, princess little people and ponies. Some days they will be lost for hours playing house or doctor, or whatever else they pretend!

Ellie still loves to cook and so help me, needs to stop asking to make things or I'm going to be the next contestant on "My 600 lb Life!" We still love to watch the kids baking shows while we fold laundry, it's a highlight of our week for sure. She can make several simple meals on her own with only small help from Jeff or I with the stove. She loves that we have a double oven now, especially that we can make "so many" cookies at one time.

She talks....a lot. So much so that often times after 5 minutes or so, I still don't even know what she's talking about, and I often wonder if she knows what she's talking about. There are just so many thoughts running through her head, she just bursts and blabs everything out all at once all jumbled and crazy.

She loves painting, coloring, chalk, play-doh, and anything artistic. She loves our new backyard and will spend hours outside on the swings, or looking for dandelions to pick for me. She is DYING for a friend. We've only met a few kids on our street and so far, they are all boys. I'm sure she won't mind one day, but I really hope she finds a really good friend. She LOVES friends.

Happy Birthday Cute Ellie, we love you so much!

March things

What a move-in mess.....But we FINALLY made it!!!

The trampoline went up the very first day. The kids were so excited!

Boston's first day at his new school! We got a tour of the school on his way to class and as we walked up to his classroom, his whole class was waiting for him at the door. jumping up and down.  I couldn't help it and just started to cry. I can't keep these emotions under control! His teacher hugged me while I felt like an idiot. I've been so worried about him starting a new school and hoping he would make friends after everything that's gone on these past few months! It was a relief to know he was going to be ok.

 Parents and Pastries at school!

Before and After you find out you're getting ANOTHER sister!! Boston was such a good sport. I cried all afternoon over how to tell him he wasn't getting a brother. This is likely our last, and he wanted a brother so bad. But he handled it like a champ. No tears, no pouting, he just laughed and said "I knew it." I don't think 3 sisters would ever know a better brother than our Boston!

I'm afraid for 3 teenage daughters....but ready or not, here is baby girl #3!

Dad's new truck! I'm glad he got some manliness in this week haha.

I probably won't ever stop posting pictures of the view from off the back of our house....

And this is the view from our front yard of the temple site. The crane in the distance is where the temple will be!

Great news: Boston made friends!!!!! And Ellie and Rylee love them haha.

Boston's friends came over to join our Friday movie night! We watched Spies in Disguise. A hit with the kids for sure. I'm so happy he made friends!

Swing set construcion!

First church day from home. We've only been in the house one week and one Sunday in our new ward before we got the stay-home order due to the Corona-virus.

Home-school! The kids have really enjoyed it! We have art time, reading time, recess (perfect time to have a new backyard) science, math and free time. I introduced the kids to Bill Nye the science guy ( i forgot how funny those are) and let the kids choose a topic they want to learn about each day. We've done dinosaurs, lightning, plants, St Patricks day, volcanoes, water, and all sorts of things.

St Patrick's day fun! The kids were worried the Lephrechaun's wouldn't know they were in a new house. Good thing they knew!

Earthquake! 2020 is really shaking things up. No pun-intended :)

Science experiment making fresh "rain" in a bowl of hot salt water with ice.

Reading time!

Home school is hard work for this little girl...

Learning about plants and seeds

More work on the swing set..

Cooking lessons...

Frozen dresses from Fishy Grandma! They would wear them every day if i'd let them!

Almost done!

Ellie painting her birthday present from Grandma Tree

We love art time!

This girl found my Grandpa's picture and walked around telling everyone it was her Papa. She had been asking me for days where her Papa was. I kept telling her assuming she was missing her papa's: "He's working, or he's at home right now," trying not to get frustrated. Awhile later I heard her in her room say "Oh, there my Papa go!" and she pulled this picture out for me.
Both of my sweet grandpa's passed away a week apart 10 years ago. We've had some cute experiences with our small kids remembering or recognizing pictures of them.

School spirit week at home! Crazy sock day.

Cookie decorating!

There's a fun little trail that connects to our neighborhood. We love it!

There's also random exercise equipment built in on the trail. Who needs a gym I guess?

Boston's opinion writing assignment one day this week...the subject was "Worst Movie"

Pajama day! Also, we watched the Disney movie Ocean's. They did a segment on hatching baby turtles and Ellie started screaming at the seagulls on the TV who were eating them. haha.

Some fun with hair....After I finished Ellie's hair, I could not stop laughing. She glared at me and said: "If you did something wrong, FIX IT." hahahahaha. I'm crying laughing just thinking about it.

I can't remember how many day's we'd been in quarantine before I finally let the kids go "cage match" on each other. It was HILARIOUS to say the least. Pillow fighting turned into full on wrestling. Ellie went from whining about getting hit, to sticking up for herself. She had Boston cornered on the chair wailing on him. Boston was laughing, but I was still proud of her.

Its finished!

Jeff put chalk in Rylee's hair haha.
