March Things!

Easter!
I really did have the best intentions for Holy Week this year. It's one of my favorite times of the year. We really tried to make the celebrations as grand as Christmas. We have an Easter Nativity, we have an Easter tree and ornanents, we got a beautiful olive tree and artwork for our home and started even more new traditions. For numerous reasons, every day brought challenges and distractions that every single day kept knocking me down. The kids fought ALL week long, we had lots of different difficult situations and I was not the most patient parent :) My mom told me that you know you're doing a good thing when life gets difficult, because satan is trying to stop a good thing from happening. She told me not to give up.  We had a few testimonies in Fast and Testimony meeting at the beginning of April that reiterated what she said, and I knew they were just for me.
For example: We had a crazy windstorm that blew out a window at the temple. Someone got up and talked about trying to get into the temple that day, and how the wind was blowing so hard it felt like someone was physically trying to keep them from coming inside. She said: "The harder the wind blows, the more surely you can know that you are doing the right thing. No matter how hard the wind blows, don't lose your focus on the temple" Another woman got up and bore testimony of the Olive Tree we read about in Jacob. She talked about the strength of a tree when things get hard and at the end closed with "Hang in there, cause this little Tree is going to make it." If that wasn't a direct sign from God, i don't know what it :) It ended up being one of the most memorable Easters because of the lessons our family learned!

I also found this notebook the day after Easter. Just one more sign :)

Cougs vs Cancer 5k
We got together with our neighbors to run a 5K for Grandpa Tree! We handed out "Tree Strong" wristbands to everyone. It was so neat. Boston shocked us all and took 7th place in his division with no preparation. He might have a future in running! We're so grateful for our good friends and neighbors.

Rylee teaching dad her dance moves

We've let the kids start teaching come follow me lessons. They are so creative! Rylee had us make "twinkie" boats like Nephi built a boat!
