Service and Sugar Scrub - Young Women Activity

My cute counselor did a fun activity this week on service. We first talked about proper care for our hands. She discussed proper washing, moisturizing, and nail care. She had cute little posters demonstrating each step, and the girls had fun learning new hand care tips. She then let the girls split into groups, and go into the kitchen to make pumpkin spice sugar scrub. She got small mason jars from walmart, and she used this recipe:

1 c. coconut oil
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp pumpkin spice

Each girl doubled the recipe and I think it filled 4 baby mason jars. After they made their scrub, they all went to the bathroom to use it on their hands. We then gathered in the relief society room and she talked about other things we can do with our hands. The girls listed different service acts they could do to help their families/friends/others.

She made her own labels, but there are free labels you can find on pinterest.
I found this cute label printout from the Beauty Crafter:
Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub Labels

The girls loved it!
